Aluminium is one of the most versatile and widely used metals. It can be recycled indefinitely without losing its properties. Nearly 75 percent of the 1.5 billion tonnes of aluminium ever produced is still in use today. In fact, recycling aluminium saves up to 95% of the energy required to produce it from raw materials. The journey of aluminium, from recycled material to a new mould, is truly remarkable.
Aluminum's journey begins with used cans, discarded vehicle parts, and other aluminium products that have served their purpose. Instead of being discarded as waste, these are collected, sorted, and transported to recycling facilities. Recycling aluminium is a highly energy-efficient process, using only 5% of the energy required to produce new aluminium from raw bauxite ore. This makes it a preferred choice for sustainable manufacturing.
Once the recyclable aluminium is collected, it undergoes a series of rigorous processes. First, the aluminium waste is cleaned to remove impurities such as paint, coatings, and other contaminants. Then, it is melted in large furnaces at temperatures exceeding 660°C (1,220°F). Fluxes are added during this process to remove alkaline salts and solid impurities by reacting with them to form compounds that can be easily separated. Next, degassing is performed to eliminate dissolved gases, such as hydrogen, which could compromise the metal's integrity. Finally, filtration is done to remove any remaining solid inclusions or impurities, ensuring the molten metal is as clean and defect-free as possible before it solidifies into its final form. Then molten aluminium is then cast into ingots, billets, slabs and continuous strips, which serve as the raw material for various applications, including rolling.
With state-of-the-art facilities, Marudhar Industries transforms these ingots into high-quality rolled aluminium products through a series of carefully controlled steps. The continuous strip casting process ensures that the aluminium maintains its desired thickness and quality, while rolling gives the metal its final shape and enhances its mechanical, thermal, metallurgical and galvanic properties.
Marudhar Industries has mastered the art of aluminium rolling, providing a range of products that cater to both domestic and commercial needs. Our commitment to quality is evident in every stage of the process, from the initial melting of Ingots to the final rolled product. With over four decades of experience, we have refined our processes to ensure that each product meets the highest standards of quality and durability.
At Marudhar, sustainability is not just a word—it's a core value. By focusing on recycling and efficient production processes, we contribute to a more sustainable future. Aluminium recyclability means that the metal can be reused indefinitely without losing its properties, making it an essential component in the circular economy. Marudhar Industries is proud to contribute in this cycle, transforming ingots into valuable products while minimising environmental impact.
For more than 40 years, Marudhar Industries has been at the forefront of the aluminium rolling industry in India. Our ability to perform all processes under one roof, from continuous strip casting to rolling and converting, sets us apart as a leading national company. This integration not only ensures uniform quality but also allows us to meet the evolving needs of our customers with innovative solutions.
In conclusion, aluminium's journey from scrap to mould is a testament to its recyclability and versatility. It is also a reflection of Marudhar Industries' unwavering commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability. With a legacy of excellence spanning over four decades, Marudhar Industries continues to lead the way in aluminium rolling, providing products that meet the highest standards and contribute to a better, more sustainable world.
